Air France, Afriqiyah Airways, Toumai, Ethiopian Airlines, the French military, and nongovernmental organizations fly into N'Djamena Airport (NDJ/FTTJ). Angolan Airlines (TAAG) is also reportedly initiating flights to N'Djamena. The airport is located in the northwestern corner of N'Djamena. Inside the airport, Air France and other airlines have small offices on the second floor. There is also an ATM, bathrooms, and plenty of lounging space.

The main entrance/exit is pictured below. Once you exit the airport, you will find a road fronting its facade. Immediately across this road is a parking lot and a collection of taxis. If you walk out to the parking lot, you will surely be confronted by a taxi driver.

N'Djamena population 993,492 (2009), is the capital and largest city of Chad. A port on the Chari River, near the confluence with the Logone River, it directly faces the Cameroonian town of Kousséri, to which the city is connected by a bridge. It is also a special statute region, divided in 10 arrondissements. It is a regional market for livestock, salt, dates, and grains. Meat, fish and cotton processing are the chief industries, and the city continues to serve as the centre of economic activity in Chad, despite the violent civil conflicts.
